Daddy dropped a washer while I watched him changing a bulb. No one had to ask me: I picked it up and said, "Daddy want your screw?"
We went out for ice cream. I don't think mommy was very happy, but she told me "Mommy's happy". I said, "Mommy is not crying".
I had on one flip-flop and one of mommy's shoes. Mommy said "I think your other flip flop is under the purple bag." I picked up the purple bag but Kira grabbed my shoe. Kira handed it to me. I said, "thank you, Kira"! And no one had to tell me to do that!
At one point today, I saw a moth. "What's that?" I asked Daddy.
I'm getting better at asking for help. My stickle brick airplane broke and I didn't cry. I told mommy in a calm voice without crying, "Airplane broke. Help please". She said daddy might be able to help. I walked all the way into the kitchen, and said, "Daddy, airplane broke". He helped me to fix it.
I am an amazing 3-year-old!

Visiting with my cousins
My cousins Erin and Taylor are here! I am super excited. They arrived on Saturday night and had to escape from my bed time routine to see them. I had so much to tell them! My mom said she has never heard me talk so much!
On Sunday we went to Water World. That was amazing. I went up the stairs, down the stairs, down a slide, under a waterfall and all over the place. I had a long nap when I went home. I didn't nap at all on Monday but I slept through the night. Tuesday I had a nap. Taylor and Erin were pretty happy about that, and so were mom and dad! On Tuesday night, mom and dad couldn't get me or Kira to bed. I think mom went berserk again. But we were both happy when we woke up.
Erin noticed that I tend to grunt when I get frustrated with the Stickle Bricks. Both Erin and Taylor are a lot of fun to play with! Mom is glad that they are here taking care of me while school is out.

Back home!
I had a great time on my vacation!
I loved going to the water every day. I was so excited by the ferry - we drove our car onto a big boat! I saw a dog on the boat, too.
We stayed at a hotel on our way back from the cool house on San Juan Island. There was a cool phone in the room with a curly cord. Kira and I fought over it. Kira cried! But before Mom could say anything, I stroked her arm and asked, "are you mad?" Mom wonders if other children do that for me when I get upset at school.
I had trouble that night; mom sang to me as I lay next to her in bed (I usually have my own bed). She was ready to turn the light off but I wanted it on. I got really angry! Eventually, I fell asleep. I woke up during the night because I heard a door squeaking. (Apparently there was a monstrous thunderstorm, too, but I slept through that). Then I wanted the light on again. I think Mom went "berserk". Instead, Dad left the bathroom light on and cracked the door.
In the morning, I felt great and was super happy. I was excited about the plane ride and announced "get on the plane!" I met a two-year-old on the plane (after I woke up from my 2 hour nap). His name was Oscar. As we were waiting our turn, I asked him, "are you getting off the plane?" This made his mom laugh.
I was ready to come home and play outside, but mom noticed something wrong with the grass. I think she was telling dad someone had sprayed "pesticide" out there and it wasn't safe. Mom and dad seemed very concerned and made me and Kira come inside to wash our hands. I WAS MAD. I wanted to play outside! But mom and dad took me to the park instead. I had lots of fun at the park with Kira! Then we went out for pizza. I got to smell a jar of oregano. "Mmm, smells good", I said.
Back home, it was bath night. I took my new boat that I got for my birthday into the bathroom. (Mom and Dad counted to 5 a LOT tonight, for some reason). I did not want my boat in the water. I was not ready to go to bed and it took dad a long time for me to settle down.
It is weird being back home again, but I sure did have a lot of fun on my vacation!

My birthday!
I am three today!
I had the most wonderful day. Especially after my nap! In the morning, we went to try and watch some whales but it was past naptime for me and I didn't want to get out of the stroller. I heard Nanna say to Mommy, "Andy used to be just like that. One day he insisted on be carried. The next day he wouldn't want to get out of the stroller." Granddad shook his head fondly (or not so fondly!)
We didn't see any whales. I did get to see three seals sunbathing, though.
Once I had my nap, the afternoon was absolutely lovely! I opened presents and afterwards we had hot dogs, chocolate cake, and ice cream. Grandmommy and Grandaddy joined in on Skype. I got three cars and a puzzle of a firetruck. I shared my cars with Kira. Mommy was proud of how we played together nicely. If we got confused about whose turn it was, mom counted to ten, adding "boogity boogity" in between. I'm really good about sharing.
Nanna gave away some more of my dad's past. "Andy made exactly the same car noises when he was little! It's amazing, actually!"
At night, dad read "Hop on Pop" to me. I helped finish each line. Dad would say "Up, Pup, Pup is..." and then I would say "Up!" At one point, I read a whole page to dad. "That one is my other brother!"
Kira and I are still up. We are sharing a room for vacation. I think Mommy and Daddy are a little perturbed but I heard Mommy say she's out of ideas. Maybe we'll sleep late tomorrow!

I love the water!
There's something called a "jetty" where we are staying. (Mom calls it a "dock", dad calls it a "jetty".) I love it! I ask mom "see the water?" and she walks me down there (and insists on holding my hand). But when I get to the bottom I want to walk back and forth without holding her hand. Mom follows me very closely and I think she's chasing me. It's a fun game for me but I don't think mom likes it. Dad also takes me down there, and Granddad, too. I've been about 5 or 6 times so far, it's my favorite thing to do!
I went for a walk in the woods with Dad, Granddad, Nana, Kira, and Uncle Dave. I saw an eagle and a seal! Kira fell asleep with Granddad! I had a long nap today, about 4 hours or so. Mommy slept, too. She has a cold.
I told Nana about the seaweed I saw, too. She asked, "what did you see?" and I said, "yellow seaweed!"
I had a hot dog bun after my nap and bit my tongue. That hurt! Kira saw me crying and she started crying, too. After I settled down, I said, "I'm sorry, Kira".
Tomorrow is my birthday! I will be three years old. Mom is going to get Grandaddy and Grandmommy to Skype in, and maybe my Aunt Kellie.
Mom says she will add some pictures to the blog.

Our trip to Seattle: Part I
I'm in Seattle!
I had so much fun getting here. I did not sleep on the plane. Instead, I had fun playing with my sister, Kira. We played "tug of war" with Mommy's pink neck pillow. Mom let us know that we were being too loud.
I loved it when the plane landed. BUMP! Mommy showed me the sign language way to say "plane landing, bump!" I practiced this a lot. I had a long nap on Sunday, I was pretty worn out from the long trip.
There was a big chandelier in the house we were renting. Mom asked if I wanted to show Kira how to turn the lights on and off. I said to Kira, "Turn the lights ON, turn the lights OFF!"
In the back yard, there was a beautiful hummingbird decoration. The red humming bird was attached to a stick in a flower pot. It sounded like mom said "cummingbird". Mom has a way of getting me and my sister to take turns. She will say, "one boogity boogity, two boogity boogity..." and when she gets to ten I know it is Kira's turn. I always give Kira her turn when Mom gets to ten.
When Kira had the bird, it fell off of the stick. Kira tried to put it together. I said, "try again, Kira!" Mom asked me to show Kira how to reattach it. I did, and gave it back to her. Mom was proud of me.
Today, we are going to get on a big boat called a "ferry".
